Pre&Post operative Care

Preparation Before Hair Transplant

Preparing before a hair transplant is an important step in increasing the success rate of the procedure, reducing complications, and facilitating quicker recovery. It is recommended to prepare at least 2 weeks before the hair transplant.

For those with chronic conditions, it is recommended to continue taking prescribed medications regularly, such as those for hypertension, diabetes, or cholesterol, to maintain blood pressure levels below 140/90 millimeters of mercury. When blood pressure is within normal range, it minimizes bleeding and bruising, leading to faster recovery.

In the case of using medications such as aspirin, warfarin, and other drugs that affect blood clotting, it is advisable to consult your regular physician to assess the possibility of discontinuing the medication. These medications can thin the blood, potentially leading to graft displacement.

  • Avoid all types of vitamins, especially vitamin E, fish oil, and vitamin C, as they may thin the blood and increase the risk of infection.
  • Refrain from smoking for at least 3 months, as smoking can cause abnormalities in blood vessels. After grafting, new blood vessels may not adequately nourish the graft, potentially leading to incomplete grafting.
  • Exercise as usual.
  • Avoid alcohol consumption one day before surgery.
  • Massage the scalp to increase its flexibility. A more flexible scalp makes grafting easier, reduces bleeding, and minimizes swelling and bruising.
  • Take medications for thinning hair, such as Finasteride or Minoxidil, continuously to strengthen the hair roots and strands.
  • Avoid hair dyeing one week before hair transplant, as the chemicals in hair dye may cause scalp irritation, wounds, or allergic reactions.
  • Avoid using hair thickening powder or fiber to prepare the hair roots thoroughly with autologous hair cell growth factor or specific hair root nourishment, such as Stemcell or Exosome. These can be injected both before and after hair transplant as options or as the physician’s diagnosis

Post-Hair Transplant Care

After the Hair Transplant is completed, on the first day, care will be provided to reduce swelling, prevent infection, and alleviate pain. Additionally, caring for strong and healthy hair roots, thereby increasing the success rate of the transplant.

  • Reducing Discomfort : pain symptoms after Hair Transplant are generally mild, mainly sensations of tightness, which can be controlled with paracetamol without the necessity of NSAIDs or morphine.
  • Shampooing Hair: During the initial 1-3 days, hair washing and cleaning will be managed by the clinic, employing specific techniques to wash the hair cautiously, ensuring that grafts do not dislodge.
  • Taking Antibiotics: In some cases of prolonged hair transplant procedures or in individuals at higher risk, the use of antibiotics may be considered to prevent infection in the scalp area.
  • Reducing Swelling :  It is recommended to sleep with your head elevated during the first week, especially for individuals prone to swelling. Additionally, considering the use of steroids may help reduce swelling.
  • Scaling Procedure : After 14 days post-hair transplant, if there is a significant amount of scaling, the physician may consider removing the scales to prepare for the growth of new hair within the next 2-3 months.
  • Taking Vitamins: During the initial phase, when the hair roots require nutrients for strength, it is recommended to take vitamins containing collagen, zinc, biotin, selenium, and iron.
  • Taking Hair Growth Medications : In cases where individuals exhibit a progressive thinning pattern, indicating ongoing hair loss, physicians may consider prescribing Finasteride or Minoxidil to slow down thinning in areas not yet transplanted.
  • Using Hair Root Serum for Nourishment: recommendation to use serum containing Minoxidil components, applicable after Hair Transplant for at Least 3 months
  • Nourishing hair roots with MSC hair treatment
  • Nourishing hair roots with Autologous Hair Cell Growth Factor
  • Nourishing hair roots with Hair Cell Stimulator Laser
